Merry Christmas?

WHY YOU DON’T HAVE TO WISH ME MERRY CHRISTMAS…or Happy Easter, or Happy Halloween, or Happy Thanksgiving.

Idolatry, murder and crass commercialism. That is plenty right there. Very little about Yeshua is celebrated during the “Yuletide” season. It is more about Santa (read Satan) Claus, Rudolph, Frosty and silver bells. After years of research, it is clear that the “taste” of heathen celebrations is more appealing to most of us than Yeshua, the bread of life.

Here is a view offered by the Nation of Islam, based on archival European research on some of the beginnings of these celebrations…

Since recorded time almost every agricultural society engaged in some sort of festive end of the year celebration. In Europe, the shortest day of the year, or winter solstice, was the cosmic event that drew the most revelers to the town square, but most everywhere else these activities were related to the period of abundance following the yearly harvest. During the Middle Ages, Europe’s rulers tried to infuse a religious component—the birth of Christ—into those highly raucous and sexualized winter celebrations. They hoped this would serve to transition the peasantry from paganism to Christianity, even though they knew that the birthday of Jesus was actually…earlier in the year.

They also knew that the figure they most admired was Nimrod (Gen. 10 and 11,) the ruler who lived to undermine…civilization…, and it was Nimrod who was born on December 25th. Nimrod is described as “the prototype of rebellion against the Almighty.” He married his own mother, Semiramis, and after his death she spread the tale that his spirit caused a full-grown evergreen tree to spring up overnight from a dead tree stump. She claimed that on each anniversary of his birth, Nimrod would visit the tree and leave gifts on it. This is the real origin of the Christmas tree. And this scheming European clergy, who were secret admirers of Nimrod and his ways, conflated the saintly Jesus with the devilish Nimrod, and inspired the gluttonous celebrations we now call Christmas.

Whew! Nimrod was also responsible for the building of the tower of (Babel) Babylon in an attempt to reach the heavens and declare himself “God.” When his “rebirth” was scammed, he was known as Baal and his female deity (mother/wife) as Ishtar/Ashtoreth. Different alliterations of his name have been conjugated as Bell, Bul, Yul, and Yule. In addition to the evergreen tree, his other symbols include (Yes, present tense,) the oak tree, the “yule log”, bells (preferably silver) and mistletoe. By the way, ever heard of “Ishtar-Bul?” More later.

Maybe you don’t like the Nation of Islam reference? How about the Prophet Jeremiah, circa 639 b.c., in the Old Testament of the Holy Bible, or the NEVI’IM (Prophets) of the TANAKH?

Hear ye the word which the Lord speaketh unto you, O house of Israel: 2 Thus saith the Lord, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them. 3 For the customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe. 4 They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not. 5 They are upright as the palm tree, but speak not: they must needs be borne, because they cannot go. Be not afraid of them; for they cannot do evil, neither also is it in them to do good. 6 Forasmuch as there is none like unto thee, O Lord; thou art great, and thy name is great in might.

Jer 10:1-6 (KJV)

So much for “O Christmas tree!” I don’t see the birth of Yeshua in any of that. We will revisit Ishtar/Ashtoreth in a little while. On to Satan Claus.

More from the NOI…

Saint Nicholas occupied several peculiar positions in Christian culture including being the patron saint of school children, shipping, and pawn brokers, among other titles. Born in the fourth century in what is now Turkey, his legend would later find its way into America as Santa Claus—a mispronunciation of Saint Nicholas. We can see how they connected him to Jesus by an odd legend that gave him power to raise the dead. According to the story an innkeeper killed three boys and cut up their bodies, intending to sell their remains as pickled pork. Nicholas happened upon the scene, supernaturally sensed the crime and reassembled the bodies and brought them back to life. It was this macabre tradition that may have given him life-restoring parity with Jesus in European minds.

Racism was interwoven in this Christmas folklore through another disturbing tale. Nicholas’ function in the church was to judge the goodness or evil of the children in his domain. He would quiz them on their church lessons, rewarding them with candy and gifts, or chastising them with sticks or pieces of coal. He was accompanied by a sidekick named “Black Pete,” described by one scholar as a “hairy, chained, horned, blackened, devilish monster… clutching a gaping sack in his hairy claws.” Black Pete’s job was to glare at the children while Nicholas drilled them on their lessons. The menacing monster with African features would every now and again flash his enormous canines and leap toward the frightened children, threatening to beat them with his rod. Nicholas warned the bad children that this “Black Pete” would stuff the little transgressors into his sack only to be released at the next Christmas.

This punitive image of St. Nick softened over time in Europe and to this day they still hold events around the image of “Black Pete” with White actors in blackened faces wearing brightly-colored clown suits. It is probably “Black Pete” who is the inspiration for the popular Dr. Seuss tale “The Grinch Who Stole Christmas.”
The practice of giving gifts in the name of Saint Nicholas was frowned upon by the father of the Protestant church Martin Luther who then introduced Christkindlein—a messenger of Christ—as the gift-bringer. Again, through mispronunciation,
Christkindlein came to be known as Kris Kringle, a name which is now used interchangeably with Santa.
Coming to America
Though “Black Pete” didn’t make the trans-Atlantic crossing to the “New World” with our chained African forbears, “Santa Claus” reached America in Dutch form along with other unseemly pagan customs. The Massachusetts Puritan Cotton Mather bitterly complained that this imported Christmas tradition mocked rather than honored Jesus: “[T]he Feast of Christ’s Nativity is spent in Reveling, Dicing, Carding, Masking, and in all Licentious Liberty... by Mad Mirth, by long Eating, by hard Drinking, by lewd Gaming, by rude Reveling...”

Wikipedia, the free online encyclopedia, also weighs in on these two characters…

In the folklore and legends of the Netherlands and Belgium, Zwarte Piet [‘zʋɑrtə pit] ( pronunciation (help·info)) (meaning Black Pete) is a companion of Saint Nicholas (Dutch: Sinterklaas) whose yearly feast in the Netherlands is usually celebrated on the evening of 5 December (Sinterklaas-avond, that is, St. Nicholas Eve) and 6 December in Belgium, when they distribute sweets and presents to all good children.

The characters of Zwarte Pieten appear only in the weeks before Saint Nicholas’s feast, first when the saint is welcomed with a parade as he arrives in the country (generally by boat, having traveled from Madrid, Spain).

According to myths dating to the beginning of the 19th century, Saint Nicholas (Sinterklaas) operated by himself or in the companionship of a devil. Having triumphed over evil, it was said that on Saint Nicholas Eve, the devil was shackled and made his slave. A devil as a helper of the Saint can also still be found in Austrian Saint Nicholas tradition in the character of Krampus.

Some sources indicate that in Germanic Europe, Zwarte Piet originally was such a mastered devil forced to assist his captor, but the character emerged in the 19th century within the Netherlands as a companion of Saint Nicholas resembling a Moor. Saint Nicholas is said to come from Turkey.

The introduction of this new Zwarte Piet was paired with a change in the attitude of the Sinterklaas character that was often shown as being quite rough against bad children himself and thought unbefitting of a Bishop by teachers and priests. Soon after the introduction of Zwarte Piet as Sinterklaas’ helper, both characters adapted to a softer character.

Still, the lyrics of older traditional Sinterklaas songs warn that while Sinterklaas and his Zwarte Pieten will leave well-behaved children presents, they will punish those who have been very naughty. For example they will take bad children and carry these children off in a burlap sack to their homeland of Spain, where, according to legend, Sinterklaas and his Zwarte Pieten dwell out of season. These songs and stories also warned that a child who has been only slightly naughty will not get a present, but a “roe”, which is a bundle of birch twigs, (as a warning they could have gotten a birching instead) or will simply receive a lump of coal instead of gifts.

Until the second half of the 20th century, Saint Nicholas’ helper was not too bright, in line with the old colonial traditions.[clarification needed] Once immigration started from the former colonised countries Zwarte Piet became a much more respected assistant of Saint Nicholas, who is often a bit inattentive, but playful.

During recent years the role of Zwarte Pieten has become part of a recurring debate in the Netherlands. Controversial practices include holiday revelers blackening their faces and wearing afro wigs, gold jewelry and bright red lipstick, and walking the streets throwing candy to passers-by.

The tradition continues to be popular in the Netherlands but some activists have protested against it. Four people wearing t-shirts with the words “Zwarte Piet is Racist” were arrested during the second weekend of November 2011.

The largest Sinterklaas celebration in Western Canada, slated for December 3rd, 2011 in New Westminster, British Columbia, was cancelled for the first time since its inception in 1985 following a debate over the inclusion of Zwarte Piet. Rather than remove the character, the organizers cancelled the festivities entirely because, as spokesperson Tako Slump of the organization said:

“We got a lot of replies back from our customers in the Dutch community. It became pretty clear to us that we love Sinterklaas and we can’t have it without Black Peter. Those two go together.”

In 2011, legislators in the former Dutch colony of Suriname stated that government-sanctioned celebrations involving Zwarte Piet were considered an insult to the “black part of Suriname’s community.” Efforts have begun in the Republic to prevent future governmental promotions of the character.

Look it up for yourselves and find out what white christmas is really about.

You want more? Consider what your precious RED, oops, I mean Black Friday is all about (it is RED for you, the consumer-“in the Red financially, and “in the Black-extra profits-for the merchants.  Here is a NOI perspective…

Just as the early Christian leaders bargained with the truth of the birth of Christ, the burgeoning merchant class in America positioned themselves to make Christmas a bonanza of consumerism and boundless profits, and so Santa Claus was commandeered to be their portly pitchman. Beginning around 1880, advertisers began to encourage the purchase of manufactured rather than homemade gifts. Wrapping paper and Christmas cards were introduced and Christmas bonuses and “Christmas Club” bank accounts promoted the holiday as the season of boundless spending.

Certainly, Christmas as it is practiced in America is a strange European tradition that has gone out of its way to exclude the Saviour Himself, while generating a massive amount of…consumer debt, and managing to add a few racist insults on the way.

Let us check in with Calvary Community Church on Easter…

Should Christians use the ‘E’ word? What does the term Easter mean? In the Old Testament times the Bible talks about Ashtoreth and Baal worship in I Kings 11:5-6, “For Solomon went after Ashtoreth [Easter in english] the goddess of the Zidonians, and after Milcom the abomination of the Ammonites. And Solomon did evil in the sight of the LORD, and went not fully after the LORD, as did David his father.” Ashtoreth is the mother of Baal. The short form is Ashtar or Ishtar and the English form of the word is “EASTER”. Easter is nothing other than the mother of Baal and the celebration or worship of Ashtoreth is forbidden in the Old Testament Scriptures. Look at the Scriptures in Judges 2:13-14, “And they forsook the LORD, and served Baal and Ashtoroth. And the anger of the LORD was hot against Israel…” Easter is Ashtoreth! EASTER IS AN EVIL WOMAN!

In AD316 Constantine was in charge of the known world and in AD321 he declared Christianity to be the only religion. The pagan religions did not go away. They simply gave their practices new names. Ashtoreth and Baal became Mary and Jesus. Many today know Mary as the ‘queen of heaven’. This pagan title belonged to Ashtoreth in the Old Testament. Ashtoreth and Baal were adored and worshipped and many today adore and worship Mary and Jesus (read Jeremiah 44). We must ask ourselves, who is the real Mary and who is the real Jesus? Unless we examine what we believe in the light of the Scriptures, we might well be deceived. According to the Scriptures, only God is to be adored and worshipped (Exodus 20). Watch out!

As Christians, we celebrate the RESURRECTION of Jesus Christ from the dead. We should use the ‘R’ word as in Resurrection. Certainly, we do not celebrate Easter (the mother of Baal), but we do celebrate the Resurrection of Jesus from the dead. Easter does not occur in the Bible at all. There is one appearance of the word ‘Easter’ in Acts 12:4 in the King James Bible, but it is a mis-translation and should be translated ‘Passover’.

Have you ever wondered about the “WOMAN” of Revelation chapter 17? She represents a religious (worldwide) system that had its beginnings in ancient Babylon and will have its final headquarters in Rome during the Tribulation period.  God will judge the religious system and destroy it during the Tribulation. H. A. Ironside, a past pastor of Moody Memorial Church, in his commentary of the Book of Revelation, written in 1920, gives us the following insights: “The wife of Nimroud-bar-Cush was the infamous Semiramis the First. She is reputed to have been the foundress of the Babylonian mysteries and the first high-priestess of idolatry. Thus, Babylon became the fountainhead mystery-religion that was originated there and spread in various forms throughout the whole earth; it is with us today.

Building on the primeval promise of the woman’s Seed who was to come, Semiramis bore a son whom she declared was miraculously conceived! And when she presented him to the people, he was hailed as the promised deliverer. This was Tammuz, whose worship Ezekiel protested against in the days of the captivity. Thus was introduced the mystery of the mother and the child, a form of idolatry that is older than any other known to man. The rites of this worship were secret.  Only the initiated were permitted to know its mysteries It was Satan’s effort to delude mankind with an imitation so like the truth of God that they would not know the true Seed of the woman when He (Jesus Christ) came in the fullness of time.

From Babylon this mystery-religion spread to all the surrounding nations. Everywhere the symbols were the same, and everywhere the cult of the mother and the child became the popular system; their worship was celebrated with the most disgusting and immoral practices. The image of the queen of heaven with the babe in her arms was seen everywhere, though the names might differ as languages differed. It became the mystery-religion of Phoenicia, and by the Phoenicians was carried to the ends of the earth. Ashtoreth and Tammuz, the mother and child of these hardy adventurers, became Isis and Horus in Egypt; Aphrodite and Eros in Greece; Venus and Cupid in Italy; and bore many other names in more distant places. Within 1,000 years Babylonianism had become the religion of the world, which had rejected the Divine revelation. In 316 AD, it became Mary and Jesus.

Linked with the central mystery were countless lesser mysteries, the hidden meaning of which was known only to the initiates, but all the people practiced the outward forms.  Among these were the doctrines of:
-Purgatorial purification after death
-Salvation by countless sacraments, such as priestly absolution
-Sprinkling with holy water
-The offering of round cakes to the queen of heaven as mentioned in the book of    Jeremiah
-Dedication of virgins to the gods, which was literally sanctified prostitution
-Weeping for Tammuz for a period of 40 days, prior to the great festival of Ishtar

Ishtar was said to have received her son back from the dead, for it was taught that Tammuz was slain by a wild boar and afterwards brought back to life. To him the egg was sacred, as depicting the mystery of his resurrection even as the evergreen tree was his chosen symbol and was set up in honor of his birth at the winter solstice. Along with many other mysterious observances, a boar’s head was eaten in memory of his conflict, and a Yule log was burned. The sign of the cross was sacred to Tammuz, as symbolizing the life-giving principle and as the first letter of his name. It is represented upon vast numbers of the most ancient altars and temples, and did not, as many have supposed, originate with Christianity.

When Christ came into this world the mystery of iniquity was holding sway everywhere, except where the truth of God as revealed in the Old Testament was known. Thus, when the early Christians set out upon the great task of carrying the gospel to the end of the earth, they found themselves everywhere confronted by this system in one form or another. Though Babylon as a city had long been but a memory, her mysteries had not died with her. When the city and temples were destroyed, the high priest fled with a company of initiates and their sacred vessels and images to Pergamos, where the symbol of the serpent was set up as the emblem of the hidden wisdom. From there, they crossed the sea and immigrated to Italy, where they settled in the Etruscan plain. There the ancient cult was propagated under the name of the Etruscan Mysteries, and eventually Rome became the headquarters of Babylonianism. The chief priests wore miters shaped like the head of a fish, in honor of Dagon, the fish-god and the lord of life. Here again is another form of the Tammuz mystery, as developed among Israel’s old enemies, the Philistines.

The chief priest when established in Rome took the title Pontifex Maximus, and this title was held henceforth by all the Roman emperors down to Constantine the Great, who was at one and the same time, head of the church and high priest of the heathen! The title was afterwards conferred upon the bishops of Rome, and is borne by the Pope today. The Pope is thus declared to be, not the successor of the fisherman-apostle Peter, but the direct successor of the high priest of Babylonian mysteries, and the servant of the fish-god Dagon, for whom he wears, like his idolatrous predecessors, the fisherman’s ring.

Ash-Wednesday, Lent, Holy Water, Purgatory, etc… These are all pagan and are not found in the Bible! All of these can be traced back to the ‘mother and son’ cult. For further study a book called Two Babylons by Hislop is recommended. We are in the latter days, so we expect rapid developments in the “Babylonian Mystery” church system. This false church system will aid the Anti-Christ in his rise to power! The church that keeps it’s focus on ‘the woman’ (MARY {not the true Mary of the Bible]) and not on Jesus is the one to watch! Keep your eyes open! See Revelation chapter 17!

“And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you (Matthew 24:4).”

(From Bible Ministries, Calvary Community Church, 2004-2006)

A couple of things to add. The term “Bar,” as in “Nimrod-Bar-Cush” means “son of” the named person, as in Nimrod, the son of Cush.

The egg, as Ishtar’s symbol of fertility is added to another of her symbols to give you, that’s right, the easter bunny! It is also symbolized in the Faberge Egg, the jewel-studded “priceless piece of jewelry you may have seen/heard of.

Lastly, Ishtar-Bul should easily be recognized as “Istanbul,” the capital of old Turkey, home to so many of the myths we’ve covered.

We’ve covered Halloween and Thanksgiving in earlier posts. Check back through our archives and our “High Foolishness Season” pages for reference.

One bit of bad news for those of you who don’t believe these references, or, don’t care to heed the warning-God does not hold us accountable for what we don’t know, only for what we know. Now you know and are so-accountable.
